Hurricane Irma

We where lucky that Irma passed and we only lost power. This tree is just under Katie's window but it fell into our neighbor's yard instead on our house!
Thankfully, a few months back we invested in a generator and had our power turn back on just in about two days. Our good friends' neighborhood was not as lucky, and they ended up going to stay with family. So, we watched their pet, Alex:

Kid's had a couple days off from school and when they got off the bus their first day back, all the leaves and acorns that had fallen in the storm became the coolest thing ever!

It was hard to start up homework mid-week:

Rose wanted to play with Alex too much. She whimpered non-stop and had to always be in the study. So, we moved him upstairs!

The next morning she told me she was ready for school:

Friday night BJ left with a group of our ward members to help clean up in Florida! I am so grateful we have the camper and that he was safe traveling back and forth. His good friend Eric has some fun equipment and they all had a good time working together.

Surprise Visit to the Farm

It is hard to see little Jane grow so fast and be so far away. So, when we realized we had a free three-day-weekend we surprised Grace and her family while she was visiting the farm!

Caleb was overjoyed to see Unkie and they played the entire time! His weapon of choice:

Caleb playing "dead" melon balers in hand and tongue sticking out for effect!

Katie with her cousin Hannah:

Ray and baby Jane:

Ray and Caleb discussing why it isn't a good idea to be to close to the edge of the dock:

Mongoose time!

Time to swing! We had beautiful weather! It was glorious!

Ice cream on the front porch:

More ice cream, just because:

Gaming:

I love that Caleb snuggled in next to Katie to take a nap!

Jane wasn't sure what to think when Unkie gave her whipped cream!

It was so hard to leave, and I can't wait to have Emily and her family there for Thanksgiving!

First Week of School

Final fling

So, if you haven't heard, we've decided to put Ray and Katie into public school and it has been a big deal! Before they leave me home alone in August 7th, we went out on the lake with some friends and got set to hear who their teachers will be!

Ray was super excited to find out his good friend,  Ben, is in the same class as him!!!
He also recently got rubber bands added to his braces so he is a little worried about doing it all himself at school.
